Today begins the 5th World Youth Congress in Istanbul, a 2-week exploration of international youth-led development, a culmination of young change-makers from around the world. 1300 delegates from 140 countries (selected by application in the following categories: activists, entrepreneurs, educators, artists & journalists), as well as 350 UN staff & representatives of state, including heads of state from various regions, are coming together to engage in process change on a new level. Turkish government has stepped forward to get inolved in a significant way, to support youth leadership on critical global issues.
