Ms Poonam Ahluwalia is the Founder and the President of Youth Employment Systems (YES) Inc, an international, nonprofit and development organization based at Cambridge College, MA. YES launched a decade long Campaign at the first ever global Youth Employment Summit held in Alexandria, Egypt in 2002.

The YES Campaign was launched by 1600 delegates from 120 countries at the Alexandria Youth Employment Summit, in Egypt on September 11, 2002 with the following goals:

1. Develop capacity of youth to lead in-country youth employment initiatives
2. Promote youth employment to address key development challenges
3. Build in-country coalitions to develop national strategies addresssing youth unemployment

Ms Poonam is absolutely not just an ordinary president. I had the opportunity to meet her shortly and not only is she very inspiring and compassionate she is also breathing with and for her mission to give people an opportunity to rewrite the future. And she is doing this with admiring patience and optimism.
